Jeff and Elizabeth Turner also live in one of Charlotte's historic districts, Meyer's Park. When, in the spring of 2007, they decided to add a master bedroom and bathroom to the second floor of their ninety year old house, the Turners settled on Meridian DesignBuild, Ltd.
From start to finish, the Turners were pleased with the entire Meridian team. "We just loved them! They're fantastic!" proclaimed Elizabeth.
Of company president Joe Balich: He is "trustworthy"; "good to his word"; "very specific with the contract". For the Turners, there were no unwelcome surprises during their involvement with Meridian.
Again, words of praise for Meridian's site project manager, " A "craftsman"; "unbelievable"; an "artiste". From finding a supplier that would produce special doors needed to match their home's antique decor to replicating molding appropriate to the period, Bobby exceeded the Turner's expectations: " You can't tell where the addition starts or ends."
Then there were the extras: One night, during a particularly heavy rain, a leak developed in the work area. A phone call brought Bobby right over -- and he stayed till past midnight remedying the problem.
That incident illustrates one of the Meridian's many selling points: clear, prompt communication, a big plus with Meridian DesignBuild. Whenever the Turners contacted the company with any concern or question, they would receive a timely and satisfactory response.
Meridian's professionals made sure the work was carried out as neatly as possible. The Turner's returned home to a job site that had been cleaned up -- "tidy" was Elizabeth's term -- everyday. She emphasizes they were at ease having the crew in their home during the entire renovation process.
Right up until the end, Meridian delivered above and beyond for the Turners. When the project was completed, Joe Balich stopped by to examine the work. He was unhappy with the tile floor in the new master bathroom, so he had it torn out and replaced -- at no extra cost to the Turners.
Jeff and Elizabeth's previous experiences with other firms had not been as pleasant:"late, undependable, unpredictable, inconsistent" are Elizabeth's description. Not so with Meridian DesignBuild: "I would not have anyone else work on our house now!" she insists. And the couple is planning on using Meridian again, in the future.
