At the point in which your plans have been developed under the Design Agreement, Meridian will have such a in depth understanding of your project/home that we would be ready to move on Construction (namely, permitting) promptly, as we will have all the information essentially “prepped to go”.

Developing your project plans through a Design Agreement with Meridian Contractors are incredibly booked up these days due to the increasing demand for residential construction (ourselves included). If you were to build your project with Meridian post-Design Agreement, you could count on us prioritizing your project, as you would already be in our que for projects.
If you work with Meridian to build your project, you can have the confidence that the price we quote you is the actual cost, and that any additional costs to you during the project have to be approved by you formally before those costs accrue.
Meridian, as a full-service Design-Build firm, is equipped to manage not just the construction requirements of the job, but also the implications of design and the finer details of your project.

Even post-Design Agreement, our Kitchen and Bath Designer would be available to you throughout the construction phase to oversee the implementation of the design and help should you decide to make any design changes. We have a formal change request process once projects start up, but through that, you would have the opportunity to make changes here and there to the design that you need to.

Meet the Team

Joe Balich – President

Since 1992, Joe has been a NC Licensed General contractor as well as in SC since 1994. Joe is a Carpenter by trade and has a background in Historical Renovation in the Boston Area. His favorite part of the construction process is the beginning phases and working the details out through the design. He also enjoys resolving challenges whether they are structural or functional. The best advice Joe has for someone looking for a General Contractor is ” We are all built with natural instinct, what is your feeling about the contractor. Too many times clients will select a contractor based on the quote and that’s never a safe evaluation. Sure, price maters, but in renovations, challenges will come up. How will that contractor work through the obstacles with you and what will that cost be. Quite often, its the cheapest bid that will cost you the most.”

Kate Balich – Operations Manager

Kate has a B.S.in Business Administration, Project Management, as well as a M.A. in Executive Leadership. Kate’s Favorite part of the construction process is “Demo is always an exciting stage; out with the old, in with the new!” The best advice Kate has for someone wanting to know more about the Design Build process “Investing the time into asking questions and really ironing out details during the design phase makes the construction process much more efficient and enjoyable. Much easier to make a change during the design phase than it is once the finishing touches are being installed; take advantage of that phase in your project!”
